Required Experience and Skills:
- 5+ years’ of experience in genomics
- D. in bioinformatics /Masters in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Computer Science
- Excellent programming skills (e.g. Python, R, Perl, Shell)
- Understanding and skills in analyzing genomics data
- Excellent knowledge of bioinformatics tools and databases
- Aware of ACMG, NCCN, ASCO and ESMO guidelines
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain bioinformatics analysis pipelines, methods, and software for analysis of clinical genomics sequencing data including reading alignment, variant calling, annotation and statistical data analysis using open source and in-house developed software.
- Translating and breaking down requirements from product team for the software engineers.
- Collaborate with software engineers for task allocation, contribute to product development by building and maintaining computational infrastructure for robust, cost-effective, and automated execution of bioinformatics pipelines in the cloud.
- Validating overall software output before release
- Drive and collaborate with quality team for documentation needed for QMS
- Responsible for quality of the software product by following best practices like code-reviews, unit test coverage and defining & adhering to single coding standard.
- Identify novel approaches to better and more efficiently analyze client and public data sets.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the bioinformatics software and analytical pipeline development life cycle.
