Challenges

High-throughput molecular biology data is useful only when turned into meaningful information. What characterizes the state of bioinformatics is the flood of data that exists today. We are getting close to a thousand dollar genome - but million dollar interpretation. It is this grand challenge that GIC team is solving every day by building smarter data capture techniques and downstream data analysis tools to overcome the bottlenecks both upstream and downstream of NGS data generation.

Ideation to product development

GIC has developed a patented technology for targeted genome-wide sequence enrichment, called Functional Genome Fingerprinting (FGF ), based on a unique set of Fixed Randomized primers. This innovative technology has been demonstrated to enrich targeted functional regions on a genome-wide scale and can be applied in NGS sample preparation.

Genome has developed six popular databases and analysis tools namely, ExDom, AspAlt, EuSplice, RoBust, ExORF and MutDB to serve the life science research community. Several other products are in development and testing phases.
