Bioinformatics Openings

Ph.D. or M.S. in bioinformatics with 2-5 years of experience in next-generation sequence data analysis (RNA/Exome/ChIP/methylome-Seq), microarray data analysis, comparative genomics,translational bioinformatics research for Mendelian and complex human diseases including cancer.

Responsibilities:

Conduct research, lead development of bioinformatics software tools and curated databases, develop, design and run publication quality NGS data analysis pipelines.

Ph.D. or M.S. in Molecular biology, genetics or related fields from a reputed institution with 4-7 yrs of demonstrable experience in grant proposal writing, submission and follow through, developing presentations, and a strong publication record.

Responsibilities: Identifying potential grant funding agencies, grant proposal writing, interacting and liaisoning with scientists, preparing and presenting scientific content, submitting proposals to domestic/international agencies, resource planning, requirements analysis, and events management; writing and co-ordinating research publications with scientists.

• M.S. in Computer Science/IT, Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, or related field.
• 3+ years of bioinformatics programming experience in an industry or academic setting. Very strong in object oriented Perl programming on a Linux based operating system.

• Experience in database design and development, SQL programming.
• Experience in web-based application framework which uses MVC architecture such as 'Catalyst' is a plus.

• Knowledge in Molecular biology and Biostatistics is useful but not essential.
• Experience in statistical programming using R is a plus.

H/She will undertake exciting data analysis service projects for global customers in the general areas of computational Biology with emphasis on RNA-seq, Exome-seq, ChIP-seq, methylome-seq and de novo genome/transcriptome assembly.

Requirement:

PhD in Bioinformatics/Computer science/Statistics with good publication record (postdoc experience is a plus).
Experience working with high-throughput genomic data and good understanding of concepts in genetics/genomics is essential.
Demonstrable work experience in Linux/Unix/Perl/MySQL.
Ability to program in R/other statistical packages is a plus.
Excellent communications skills and the ability to work on a variety of projects are essential.
